Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information M Designs Collections LLC collects through our website and in the course of working with you, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language.
Who we are
M Designs Collections LLC ("M Designs Collections", "we", "us") designs and builds custom furniture and millwork from our showroom at 1808 El Camino Real, Redwood City, CA 94063. You can reach us at sales@mdesignscollections.com or (650) 212-5544.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you send an idea, request a drawing, book a consultation, apply for a trade account, join our mailing list, email yourself a design or work with us on a project, we may collect:
- your name, email address, phone number, and city and state
- for trade clients: your firm, role, website, and resale certificate or licence number
- what you tell us about your project, and any sketches, photos or floor plans you upload
- the options you choose in our configurators, such as material, colour, size and finishes
- details of consultations you book, such as the date, time and type of meeting
- billing details for invoices and payments
Payments. Card and bank payments are processed by QuickBooks Payments (Intuit). We do not store full card or bank account numbers on our systems.
Information from others. If you contact us through Houzz, or leave us a review there, we receive the information you provide on Houzz.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we receive technical information such as your browser and device type, IP address and approximate location, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and how you interact with the site. We collect this through cookies, pixels and similar technologies. See "Cookies, analytics and advertising" below.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- reply to your enquiry and prepare drawings, proposals and quotes
- schedule and hold consultations
- manage projects, invoices and payments
- review and set up trade accounts
- send you a design you asked us to email you
- send our mailing list, if you joined it; every email has an unsubscribe link
- measure how our website and advertising perform, and show you our ads on other sites and apps
- run, secure and improve our website
- keep business records and meet our legal and tax obligations
Your choices
- Opt out of selling or sharing. Use the "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page to turn off advertising cookies and pixels.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of selling or sharing for that browser.
- Do Not Track. Browsers' "Do Not Track" setting has no common standard, so our site does not respond to it. We do honour GPC, as described above.
- Mailing list. Unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email, or by writing to us.
- Google and Meta. You can also manage ad settings in your Google and Meta accounts.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect about you, where it comes from, why we use it and who we share it with
- get a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct inaccurate personal information
- ask us to delete your personal information, subject to exceptions the law allows, such as records we must keep
- opt out of the "selling" or "sharing" of your personal information for advertising
- be treated equally if you use any of these rights
To make a request, email sales@mdesignscollections.com or call (650) 212-5544. We will confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we respond within the time the law requires. You can also ask someone you have authorised to make a request on your behalf.
We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Shine the Light. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
- Client projects: we keep project, quote, invoice and warranty records for seven years after a project ends.
- Enquiries that do not become projects: we keep them for as long as we need to follow up, then delete them.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Website and advertising data: for the periods set in our analytics and advertising tools.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No website or email is completely secure, so please do not send card numbers or other sensitive information through our forms or by email.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as Instagram, Houzz, 25 West Gallery and M Designs SLEEK. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
